From a DV tape, the easiest way I know of is to use Scenalyzer Live which has an audio only option.

Alternately, you can run audio from your camera to your sound card and capture the audio direct to the Vegas timeline.

Scenalyzer works well for this. In fact it is IMHO the best tool for capturing either video or audio for use in Vegas. Can’t remember the last time I used the Vegas capture app as Scenalyzer is so far ahead in most aspects. It also has a host of other good features which I find useful. Well worth the $40 or so it cost. They have a downloadable demo which watermarks the video every so many seconds but from memory it does’t watermark the audio so might be worth a go. Find it at scenalyzer.com. All the best for a hot sunny Xmas and all that.

have scenalyzer, and yes, agree totally why would you bother with anything else…. however, client just handed me a tape and said vo’s are at the end of it, and since he had tc’s and was raring to go, and i was already heavily edited and still working in vegas i thought…..

    have to stop thinking…..

all the best for the humbug period,
