    Hi,

I’m trying to set up for using the 5d for video production, and want headphone monitoring from the camera, naturally. I don’t have the cash for an external recording system or a beachtech/juicedlink.

i know the former version of the magic latern firmware made using the av jack for headphones possible, but i’ve upgraded to the new canon firmware and the magic latern is still really alpha, so i’m not secure enough to install it.

is there an adaptor that will make using the av out usable by standard headphones? if so, a link would be miraculous.

    thanks!

    Hi,

I not sure, but does the 5D come with composite out, with the RCA left right audio. Because if it does, you can get a little RCA to 3.5mm jack adapter thing, and plug your headphones into that. But not 100% on if that would work. Or if it will turn off your screen like it does with the HDMI plugged. But if it does work it should cost more than 10 bucks. Just stop by Radio Stack, and get that adapter converter thing, and you’ll be good to go.
