I have 2 video clips that I want to place together, I have the first clip fading out and the 2nd fading in, when I click to drag the two clips together they merge and the fade disappears. Can this be avoided somehow? Many thanks.

By click to drag the two clips together, do you mean that you drag the beginning of clip 2 over the end of clip 1.
If yes, than what happened is what’s supposed to happen and can’t be changed.
If it’s something else, please let me know.

I mean I drag clip 2 to the end of clip 1, not over it just so they are touching and there is no gap. Thanks for the reply.

I’ve had that happen to me before and have never been able to figure out why it happens.
A re-boot usually fixes things so I’d try that.

You should probably zoom in very close to be sure they do not overlap. I would go at least to the point where you can see individual frames.

Thanks, I tried the restart and that didn’t work but making sure there was a frame between them wasn’t visible in the end product and stopped the merging.
