if i put an audio only file (i’ve used aiff/wav/avi) into the clip window I hear nothing. I don’t get any audio when I play or scrub using the on-screen tools, or the shuttle or the keyboard. Nada. I put the clip on the timeline and I can hear it. for comparison, if I preview a file with audio and video, it works fine – I can see and hear it.

    any thoughts? i’m using PP1.5

ok duh. somehow (using windows XP – go figure) the preferences decided to grab onto the built-onto-motherboard audio instead of the blackmagic…

my apologies – i didnt even know it had another audio hardware option on the box. it doesnt even have jacks…but today the box has decided that THAT is the audio card to use…and i’ve shown it the error of its ways.

    sorry to waste your time.
