Audio Issue with Sony UVW 1800 Beta Deck
I have an issue that I was hoping someone here can help with –
Using FCP 6.0.5 with an AJA ioHD connected to two decks – DVCam connected via SDI and the Sony UVW1800 Beta SP connected via S-Video and Analog audio.
Have deck control and can import fine.
Can export to the DV CAM no problem.
Get a picture on the Beta but no audio to the deck (it is registering in the AJA) when there is a tape in the machine. It is almost as if the audio heads disengage when there is a tape in for record.
Thoughts?

hit the record button (not play and record, just record) you should get
preview audio.or eject the tape.
This is normal behavior for all beta form factor decks I’m aware of
