Audio Issue With Final Cut Pro
I have a song as background music for a video I’m editing. The original file does not have any static, but when I imported it to FCP, it developed a periodic, to the beat really, sharp static sound.
I attmepted to import it to Soundtrack pro, but it played fine in Soundtrack pro and when saved, it still had the static sound in FCP.
Any ideas?

Format of Clip?
Make sure you are using a .AIF or a .WAV file, 16bit, 48k

I just downloaded it from YouTube, converted it to a .mov and imported it. If I convert to .wav 16 bit 48K, it should get rid of the static?

Converting something to a quicktime .mov is just wrapping the compressed codec into a new wrapper. What Chris is saying is that audio in final cut must be 48khz PCM (uncompressed) either wav or aif or quicktime with 16 or 24 bit depth only.
Every other audio combination of codec compression, sample rate or bit depth will not play smoothly as yo have discovered. You could use Soundtrack Pro to make the wav or aif file to those specs. Compressor is also able to do that
