  • Audio in Premiere Pro cutting in and out when I have 6 tracks or more

My audio board is a Realtek ALC662. I’m using Vista Ultimate 64bit. I have 4GB of DDR3 RAM. My footage is on a Seagate 750GB USB2.0 Hard Drive.

I have a project with some modified audio effects totaling about 8 tracks worth, one is ambient noise, one is music, some are sound effects and the rest are audio. When I play through the footage in Premiere CS3 timeline the audio cuts in and out ever so often, but never at the same place. When I export it however, everything comes through the exported file just fine.

Is this a memory issue or a soundboard issue or what? What are some things I can do to remedy this or to pinpoint what the issue is?

Ensure that you have the latest ASIO compatible drivers available from the manufacturer’s (RealTek) Web site and that the correct audio driver is selected in PPro.

    Some troubleshooting tips.

    Cheers
