Audio in AVID etc
Hey guys
Just jumping cow-munity for a quick question(s)….
Does anyone know where there is some info about avids audiosuite plugins, and / or basic info about eq’ing, i.e. how to know when to adjust a frequency in each shelf of audio? i know a weird one i hear you all say, a video editor trying to touch on audio.
The place im at has no audio team, and no budget alot of the time to go for a mix, so we make do (arghh!!) although to be fair we do quite well, im just keen to expand my knowledge.
Finally something thats always bothered me. When i try to create a soundscape i often need to make the FX sound distorted when they pass through glass, i.e. cars passing outside a building etc is there a way to achieve this sound?

This will give you a basic overview of eq.
You could also look for books written by Jay Rose…smart guy, fun to read.
