I’ve had this problem ever since I can remember and have always just put it down to the Apple G5 hardware but thought I may as well ask here to see if it can’t be fixed.

When I’m in FCP and play a timeline my Audio drops out for a second and hickups before playing correctly.

I’ve thought it might be the Mac not liking 48Khz sound.

Is there anyway I can stop this hickup from happening as it would be nice to be able to press play and have the audio play correctly without a stutter.

At the moment when it happens I need to stop the play head and start again which solves the problem.

Could this be my DecklinkHD card? I’ve always thought I have a dodgy card as its for every giving me feedback on SDI monitor out.

    Many thanks
    Rory

    Hi Rory,

48kHz should work fine on the Mac. What is the output of your DeckLink HD SPDIF output connected to?

Try quiting all video applications, and then play something from iTunes. Any problems doing so?

If you can also contact us at support [at] blackmagic-design.com with regards to the DeckLink HD card that’s giving you feedback on your SDI monitor? We’ll work though it and see what’s wrong. Thanks.

    regards
