Audio goes out of sync.
Hello!
Having an issue with some clips I’m editing.
The videos are all H264 files shot on a cell phone. I chose the DSLR sequence preset but changed the settings to match the clips. 30fps and 44.1hz audio.
It’s interview stuff and a couple of the clips are very long (like 16 minutes). When I put them in the timeline the audio starts out fine but gradually goes out of sync. By the end of the clip it’s at least a second out of sync.
If my frame rate and audio sample rate are set correctly any ideas why this might be happening?

Some implementations of H.264 on cell phones and other similar devices are variable framerate which Premiere doesn’t deal with properly (Premiere is designed for time precision). Most editors don’t deal with it properly.
Best thing to do is to time stretch your video to make sure the end is in sync, put a keyframe at the 1/2 way point and adjust, then start check the 1/4 points, the 1/8th points in til the entire video is in sync to a satisfactory amount.
