  • Audio Glitches when using MP3 Files

    Hello,

I’m running FCP on my Macbook Pro and I’m editing a sequence using some mp3 files as background music.

Every few seconds a I hear a glitch – a click and a very slight jump like a frame has dropped out. These glitches happen in the same place in the files every time.

There’s nothing wrong with the mp3 file – it plays fine in itunes.

The audio rate of my sequence and of the DV Video is 48Khz, but the audio rate of my mp3 files is 44.1Khz. If I change the audio rate of the sequence to 44.1Khz it solves some of the glitches but not all of them.

Can anybody advise me on how to diagnose and solve this problem.

    Many thanks,

    Steve Price.

Nothing wrong with the files except their compressed audio. FCP doesn’t wan to be bothered decode them on the fly. Convert your MP3s to AIFF at 48K if that’s what you’re working with in your sequence.

    All the best,

    Tom

I hear a glitch also on my sequence. It hits at the exact same spot every time however there isnt any audio track layed down there. It is just video. How can I be hearing a glitch at a spot that has no audio track?
