    Hello,

We are facing issues with regard to audio re syncing. We record the audio of a interview natively within the camera and externally through logic pro. We do this so our audio engineer can get straight to work with the logic pro AIFF recording.

After EQing, we import the mastered AIFF export into fcp to link with the video footage. This is when the issue occurs…. the audio is synced perfectly in the start, then gradually drifts out of sync. The EQ’d AIff is visibly longer than the native recording. We can not think why this is happening?! Both fcp and logic are 25fps projects, 16 bit 48k.

(there is a green line at the top of the imported AIFF, is this a warning / indication that fcp recognises a problem)

    Thanks in advance.

If this is not a frame rate mis-match in the settings, sequence, or footage, (and it almost always is), have you checked what your output card is doing?

Hi Paul, this is a pretty common problem and one I discuss in my tutorial. You can skip to the second part, which describes how to set up FCP so audio imports correctly:
