I have an FCP project with an imported MXF clip (transcoded to 422HQ). The clip has 4 mono tracks.

I have muted tracks 3 and 4. I’m trying to export export 1 and 2 as stereo (without mixing them).

I go to Export to AIFF and make sure that “Channel Grouped” is selected. But the exported track has tracks 1 and 2 mixed together. Any ideas why?

In the Audio Output tab for the sequence settings, the grouping is “Stereo”.

OK, I think I’ve found the problem.

I brought up the Audio Mixer. Channels 1 and 2 are set to “0” or center. So I panned them Left (-1) and Right (1).

Question: Does anyone know how to set this as the default? And also, so that it is global and affects all clips on the timeline?

    Thanks!
