    Audio equipment for edit bay

    Hello All,

    I need to add audio to my edit suite. Been working strictly with headphones and now need to be able to share. I don’t do the audio mixing as I am an editor and motion graphics artist, but I do want good quality playback. What equipment do I need? I work on a Macpro octocore with Aja card out. Work in FCP, Premier and After Effects. I know I need a mixer, an amp, speakers. What else? Any recommendations?

    I can always go to my audio mixer’s studio to hear it perfectly, but yet I do want decent quality in my edit bay.

    Basically you don’t need anything more than a good set of powered speakers that you would connect to the headphone output. Go to your local Best Buy, etc and find a set that pleases your ears & wallet.

    Thanks Ty,

    Would I need anything else to interface between the Aja breakout box and the Mackie 824s? Is it as simple as an XLR connection? Would I need any other audio gear? I’m putting together a budget and just don’t want any surprises.
