Hi, I’ve added a simple “echo” audio filter to audio clips in my FCP 5 sequence.

Sounds fine, however, the effect abruptly STOPS when the playbead reaches the end of each audio clip, instead of trailing away, thus making the audio filter essentially worthless for creating reverb or echo.

I would extend the handle of the clips (if they existed) but really shouldn’t have to do this, as the effect is intended to be applied only to the audio that I want to hear in the program.

Any way to fix this problem so that I can make short sounds or clips of dialogue actually echo?

    Thanks much.

Yes nest the sound in a longer nest and apply the filter to that

Or, you could fade out the clip on the timeline under the echo effect using rubberbanding. This will of course fade out the echoing audio over time.
