Can I add an effect to a single clip on an audio track as opposed to the whole track? I’m wanting to insert a high pass filter to lesson wind noise on dialogue shot outside. do i just drop this dialogue onto a new audio track then insert fx or can I do it on the timeline as an individual clip fx?
I’m using vegas movie studio HD platinum.

The answer is “it depends”. I’m not sure about Movie Studio but in Vegas Pro, we got the ability to add individual FX to an audio event with the introduction of Pro 10. To see if you have this capability, right click an audio event and see if “Audio Event FX” is one of the options. If it is, select it and choose the one you want. If it isn’t there, then your idea of dropping it onto a new track is the best way to go.

You can do it on the timeline on the specific audio clip,
At the end of an audio clip, lower corner, you will see a little
cross (Event FX), click on it and you can apply your effect
    from there.
