Ok so I’m having this odd problem, whenever I meger an audio and video clip together, it is sync however the audio dropsoff near the end of the clip.

First the stats, the footage was shoot via 24p and imported in through basic 3:2 pulldown, and the audio was recorded on a CF Field Recorder at 48khz 16bits as a wav and then converted to aiff before imported in.

Now the camera was having issues with timecode stamping, so we elected to sync it via slate clap board, and the video was imported in as one clip, broken into several subclips. So I mark the in point on the video where it matches with the audio slating, and it works. However, it stays synced with the video, but then the audio just drops out near the end. The viewer shows the merged clip audio as being there, it just doesnt play it back nor does the audio meter even register near the end when the dropping out occurs

The odd thing is however I can drop in it the timeline (just basic 29.97) and sync it there, link, then chop off the beginning of the slate, and it plays it back fine.

Any idea as to why the audio drops out? I was thinking of playing around with the aux timecode, but since it works syncing in the timeline, I’d figured I can always do that, but it just seems a little more time consuming.

I have the exact same problem. I’ll post back if I find a solution.

Ok, so I’m not crazy. I have this problem, too. What gives? it’s so strange. the only solution i’ve been able to come up with is to re-export every clip as a quicktime from teh timeline but, especially as i need to have accurate tc for the clips that are created, this will be painful…
