    Hello,

I tried doing a search for this answer but had trouble finding one.

    I am editing a 2 minute trailer in HD at Apple Prores 422, 23.98 FPS, 1920 x 1080.

The audio is drifting out of sync at different points in the sequence and for the life of us we can’t figure out why. Any suggestions?

Thank you all very much for your help.

    Jonathan

Also just FYI we are using an AJA Kona HD setup, don’t know if that weighs into it or not.

Make sure you have the Kona driver up to date. Also have a look at this tutorial to make sure you are importing the audio correctly –

Finally, is the audio 16 or 24 bit 48khz wav or aif. Sample rates other than 48khz or compressed files like mp3 or aac are often the culprit in sync problems.

I’ll definitely take a look at this, thank you very much.

The weird thing about the audio going out of sync is that it seems to happen whenever there are gaps with no video or slug covering it. For example, I will play my timeline, and if I have a 3 second gap between two clips, the audio will go out of sync starting at the second clip. If I fill it in with a slug it seems to be ok.

Thanks again for your help, it is much appreciated.
