Audio & Decklink
Hi Folks, have been working on a new suite with a Decklink HD Extreme. We need to commentate a show and I am struggling to get audio into FCP via the Voice Over tool. The audio comes through under log and capture and through Soundtrack but not the Voive over tool. Is this a design fault of the card or am I missing something obvious. I dont wish to use Soundtrack for this commentary purpose but will if I must.

Don’t you get the “Source: Built in audio” option in the “voice over” tool?
Have a look to the QT player preferences> Record> See if the DesckLink is checked.
Also have alook in “Audio” in the System Preferences.

Thanks mate. Its appears that the Black Magic HD Extreme will not outpt pics whilst capturing and therefore you must turn off external video to get the Voice over tool to work. I am led to believe that this MAY be different in component mode but I could not get it to work and the official word from Blackmagic is that it wont do it. FYI thanks for your help.

I really don’t know what happens with the System audio when you install the BM drivers. I’ve got a BM Extreem SD, and since I installed it, the Modem doesn’t sound when I get conected to Internet. Thanks God this is not a problem, but shows that change some seting in the System.
