Audio cuts out near the end of the clip
Hey guys, forgive my ignorance as I’m fairly sure this question has been asked before, as I’ve found it asked a few times in my hunt across the internet, but I haven’t found an answer to it anywhere!
A couple of weeks ago I could edit my movies very easily, but suddenly when I started up my next documentary about a week ago I found all the sounds on the files would cut out just near the end of the clip, about 4/5ths of the way through. It hadn’t happen before in the last documentary I did, and I hadn’t changed any settings or installed any new software, so I’ve been completely stumped as to where I can start to look for an answer to fix this problem!
I’ve already tried following things:
Starting an entirely new project, still the same problem.
Deleting the audio cache to force it to re-index the files, still the same problem.
Uninstalling my codec packs, did nothing
Installing different combination’s of singular and different codec packs, still the same problemI know I can re-encode all the files to a different video codec, as I’ve done that previously, but now I have about 300+ clips to work with and its far too inefficient to re-encode that many clips and I don’t have the space either. And given that my filming and editing will be an ongoing thing for a couple of years, I would prefer to find a way to use the clips as they are if I can!
It seems that PP just stops sampling the audio towards the end, and exporting that audio from PP exports it exactly as PP reads it. However, if I open the videos in After Effects or bridge they play completely fine.
My computers specs are:
Pentium Dual Core T4300 @ 2.1 GHz
4 Gigs RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4600 with 1 gig dedicated RAMAnd currently running:
Windows 7
Windows 7 codec pack

What are the Properties of your source video clips?? Where did they come from?

Whoops! Should have mentioned that earlier!
The movies are avi with a mjpeg compression, @ 30 fps, ie: They come from an olympus u7000 digital camera
I dont know the audio format though, I’ve been searching the internet relentlessly for the info but to no avail
