I’d put the raid on slot 2 and Kona in slot 3.

The mixed audio is probably causing your crackles as well.

    Thanks – I’ll give it a try.

I Changed the sequence bit depth and the crackling is happening on both 16 and 24bit. So I doubt that this is the problem.

Hopefully the card order will help.
    I’ll post the results.
    Thanks Jeremy

[Olivier Aubut] “I Changed the sequence bit depth and the crackling is happening on both 16 and 24bit. So I doubt that this is the problem. “

But that still leaves you with mixed audio sources.

Sorry, I wasn’t clear at all.

I tested some 16bit footage on a 16bit sequence and some 24bit footage on a 24bit sequence. Audio problems on both.

    Am I missing something?

[Olivier Aubut] “Am I missing something?”

No, I missed it. I get crackles sometimes if my audio isn’t lined up (44.1 vs 48, 16 vs 24, etc). It has been a really long time, though. It’s also troubling that you are getting video hits. Something doesn’t seem like it’s configured correctly.

Well, the reorder didn’t fix the problem but the downgrade seems to have done the trick.
I’m now on control panel 7.5.1 NDD and there is no more crackling or video glitches. Huzza!

I hope someone from AJA reads this.

    Thanks for your help Jeremy

We just installed a Kona LHi last week, and were experiencing the exact same problem – random audio crackling and video hits. I followed your lead – uninstalled Kona LHi Driver 8.0, installed 7.5.1, and all is well so far – crackling and hits are gone. Thanks for sharing your solution!

Thanks to everyone for your help! Yes, reinstalling 7.5.1 fixed it.

There is a new release for the KONA LHi. The new release version is 8.0.1. This release addresses a KONA LHi issue where some users experienced intermittent glitches in video and audio. Features and improvements are otherwise exactly the same as the version 8.0 driver.
