audio crackle in export
there is a crackle/pop in my audio every time I export the full sequence. I’ve tried to get rid of audio effects, but nothing seems to be working. What’s strange is to isolate the problem area, I’ve exported only part of the sequence and the audio “pop” goes away – but then returns when I try to export the entire sequence. Any ideas what might be causing the problem?

I’m not sure why it would only show up on the full sequence. When I’ve had audio pops in Premiere I’ve put a 2 to 3 frame fade at the head of each audio clip. That seem to solve my pop problems.

Also what file type are you exporting? If highly compressed, like MP4, or h.264 codec, try another format and see if the audio issue disappears.
Also try exporting using Media Encoder.

Probably just a bug. You may need to export out a full quality file as a master (ProRes, DNxHD, or whatever your preferred codec is) and then bring that master into Media Encoder to make your deliverables.

I tried exporting as ProRes422 in Adobe encode – also added fades to the audio where it seems to contain the “crackle”, but it’s still happening. Any more ideas as to how to trouble shoot this issue?

The only other time I’ve had trouble like this with the audio it turned out to be the MP3 files in the timeline. So I converted them to WAV or AIF. Other that that I’m stumped.

I experience this all the time with Premiere – possibly even more so since the recent update.
It’s not necessarily predictable but when it happens in 1 spot, it’ll keep happening. I used to be bale to get rid of this with some of the solutions mentioned above – putting fades at the start of clips, converting the source audio from wav or mp3 to aiff, even mixing down/exporting the audio only as an aiff then re-importing and putting this new track on the timeline used to fix the issue. Now nothing seems to work.
Stumped & ticked off. I now spend as much time trying to get a clean export as I do editing – sometimes more 🙁

I had the same abysmall issue. Made a 10 minute short film with stems from Pro Tools – one for left channel and the other for right channel. No crackles in the raw audio, but tons of weird little pops all over the export. Tried ProRes and h264.
One thing that fixed it for me was making sure the export was actually playing stereo. My settings were set to stereo, but I forgot to adjust the pan on the stems. After doing that, the pops in the audio went away. Hope this helps some people.

I had this problem when using a motherboard with onboard sound. I disabled it in bios and installed a PCI sound card and the problem completely vanished.
