    Hi guys,

Occasionally I have to do remote audio for some of these reality show pilots and other shows where there’s a client I’ve never worked for nor am I sure I’ll ever see $$$. Does anyone have some form of a simple one page legal contract I could try to get the producer to sign that gives me some piece of mind I’ll get paid for services rendered? I have lost money on one deal only so far thank goodness, but I still have a bad taste in my mouth from it.

It basically comes down to this, if you have to use a collections agency afterward, you have to have some form of written agreement that states you were supposed to get such and such amount obviously.

    Thanks all!
    J

A basic “deal memo” can be as simple as a single page email that covers what’s expected of each other and when you’ll get paid.

If you are concerned, if not before the gig, have them sign a copy when you show up for work.
