I know how to link and unlink the audio and video (either with the CMD-L buttons or by going to the Modify menu and selecting Link), but my clips are still not linking. They are underlined in the timeline and the little green arrows are in the audio timeline, but when I try to manipulate the clip (shorten it, move it, etc, they do not move together. (Actually the two audio tracks do move together, but not with the video clip.) It does not help when I unlink them and link them again. It does not help when I close out FCP and come back in (or when I restart my computer). I assume it’s something in the system because I also tried opening an old project to see if the problem exists there, and indeed it does.

    Any ideas?

Is the Link button on the top right side of your time line turned on?

That’s what it was – it was not highlighted (turned on). Thank you!
