I’m relatively new to AVID and have a minor question. What audio formats work well with Avid Media Composer Adrenaline. I have a compressed trailer in quicktime format using the H.264 codec with 16-bit (Big Endian) audio at 384.00kHz… I need to bring this into Avid and have had trouble doing so because of the audio. Also, I tried to throw this clip into After Effects and rendering…but no luck…any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

384KHz? Are you sure? That’s twice HD audio bitrate! If you can’t reencode the original movie I suggest extracting the audio track using QuickTime Pro. That way you can export it as something sensible. To answer your first question Avid is fine with either wav or aiff. I default to aiff.

I know that bitrate sounds weird but the quicktime info states 384 kHz. I am trying to use sorenson squeeze to extract the audio and it won’t work there either…Unfortunately this facility does not have qt pro??? thanks for the rapid response…I’ll figure this out eventually.
