Attn Fellow Cow Leaders: DVDA and VBR 2 Pass renders resulting in DVD’s that play only in some DVD players
Hi
I am rendering 78 mins of multi-cam footage using the DVDA template and am applying 2 pass VBR settings. It is using a mix of footage from NX5 and Panasonic P2, with HDV and DV footage on the timeline. I then make the DVD in DVDA and everything previews/tests ok with the menus and navigation.
It burns without error using good quality media, but only plays in 2 of my 5 DVD players. The symptoms are:
1) the menus navigate, but when selected, the menu remains but you can hear the audio playing from the correct portion of the media.
When play all is selected, the DVD player will play, but fastforwarding results in the DVD player literally hanging and then only way to stop it is to power off the player.2) When I use DVD shrink, I cannot scrub through the media. Actually I can, but the video is black.
3) Last strange feature is that it ALWAYS plays with Windows media player. i.e. insert disc and the menus work properly.
4) I have tried DVDA 5 and 5.2, also tried burning using Nero at slow speeds.
5) I have tried DVD-R and DVD+R.
Any suggestions? Project is due urgently. Help!
