Desperately trying to find a tutorial on creating timeline style compositions in After Effects.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9aVeJOHjcA

Particularly I’m looking to get the continuing line effect, what would I even call this?

    Help is much appreciated!

What is wrong with the tutorial you are linking to here? It seems to be pretty clear. Is there something you need to know besides what’s being shown in the tutorial?

The very first thing shown in the video is how to create the timeline graphic using shape layers with the repeater function. You could also create your own variation of a timeline in Photoshop or Illustrator and import it if you want. I guess I’m confused too on what you specifically need to know that isn’t shown already in the tutorial?
