  • ATEM Television Studio: Picture-in-Picture Effect? / H.264 Recording Formats?

    Hello,

currently we are using a software solution on a MacbookPro
for mixing two Video Signals for further encoding into H.264.
We are seeking for a more robust solution.

The ATEM Television Studio seems to be the perfect solution for us,
but some details are still unclear:

    1.)
Is a simple Picture-In-Picture effect consisting of two live video signals possible
    with this model?

For our purposes we often need to switch between PIP (Camera1 inside Camera2)
and PIP (Camera2 inside Camera1); scaled, not cropped!

    2.)
    We would produce in 1080i/25.
Is the in-build encoder capable in scaling, de-interlacing and encoding
    into something like H.264 1280×720@15fps ?

    3.)
Is it possible to operate the ATEM Control Interface SW and MediaExpress concurrently on the same MacBookPro?

    4.)
If the connection to the ATEM Control Interface SW is disconnected suddenly; does the switcher
continue it’s operation with the last settings?

    Thanks and kind regards,
    Bernhard Grininger
