ASSISTANCE REQUIRED! Panasonic 1200a deck settings
i all,
Been trying for weeks to output a DVCPRO HD sequence to tape using MC 5 and the 1200a with no luck using both firewire and HD-SDI. Here’s the thing – I get picture and audio, but when the Avid cues the tape and starts to roll, the timecode will jump ahead to a seemingly random timecode.
For instance, the sequence starts at 00:58:00:00 and the tape is striped ahead of time. Then I hit record in digital cut (set for crash record), it cues up and starts to record at minute 58, but the timecode immediately jumps to say 1:00:01:04 and then rolls normally from there. So the picture plays from the correct point but the timecode is offset by 1:04.
Does anyone have deck setting for the 1200 or any advice? This is driving us crazy! Thanks ahead of time.

The 1200 deck is a capture deck only. Yeah, it has a RECORD button, but all it will do properly is CRASH record. It doesn’t work for FCP either.
You need the 1400 deck for outputting.
