  • Assign tracking area for Warp Stabilizer?

Posted by Bernhard Walzl on October 10, 2014 at 1:14 am

    Hello!

I was playing a bit around with the warp stabilizer and sometimes it is just not exactly doing what I want it to do.

For example when i have a handheld shot of a crowd of people in a room and they all are a bit moving. Although there are areas where it would be easy to track the picture from, (like things on the wall, etc) the warp stabilizer tries to track other objects and it becomes all a bit … warpy. 🙂

so, is there a way to restrict the warp stabilizer to a certain area of the frame? Like can I assign a tracking point? Or can I limit the effect and then parent it to the original?

I just want to avoid to change to after effects or davinci only to quickly stabilise a shot.

    Thanks,
    Bernhard

What your looking for is in After Effects. Premiere Pro does not have this ability.

There’s a lot of great tutorials out there on this.

For these kind of tasks, I find that setting the stabilizer to only scale, position, rotete, gives a better result.
