I am using Pro 3.0. When I try to export 4:3 video clips, they are slightly too narrow, leaving vertical black bars on each side. The depth is fine (480).

The only way I can get the clips to be wide enough (720×480), is to export them at an aspect ratio of 0.9. However, this slightly stretches the clip horizontally.

I have tried several different combinations and this is what it comes down to.

I need the clips to be exactly 720×480 because a colleague needs to import them into Final Cut for a documentary we’re making and we need the clip dimensions to match.

    Help, please.

640×480 with square pixels is 4:3, (.9) is the proper pixel aspect for DV(720×480) 4:3, what sources is your footage composed of??

Are you in a NTSC DV 4:3 project? (Project settings).

Seems to me like you created a 16:9 (1.2 pixel aspect ratio) project.

Try closing that current project and create a new 4:3 project. That will give you the proper pixel aspect ratio (.9) for video shot in 4:3.

You shouldn’t have to stretch it at that point at all.
