I have some 16 X 9 footage that’s been captured properly and placed in a 4 X 3 timeline, and it plays back letterboxed, as intended.

I’m now trying to copy and paste that sequence into a new 16 X 9 sequence within my project and the aspect ratio is squished. I’m trying not to have to re-capture each clip.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks.

Don’t paste. Once you dropped it into the 4:3 timeline, it adjusted the clip attributes so that it would fit in the sequence properly….the DISTORT will be at -33% or something like that. Match back to the original clip (F) and then cut it into the new sequence. Or adjust the distortion on the clip, and copy and paste the attributes to all the other clips.

You’ve probably checked this already, but is the “Anamorphic” button checked in the Sequence settings? That will squish 4X3 material.
