I’ve seen Uwe’s posts just below regarding Aspect HD and I have a few similar questions.

I recently downloaded the trial version of Aspect HD, and Premiere Pro 2. Because I use Adobe Premiere Pro (not 1.5), I initially tried to download a HDV plug in from Adobe at first, and then discovered you need Premiere Pro versions 1.5 or 2 (there is no Adobe HDV plug in for Premiere Pro as far as I knew), so I downloaded the trial versions of Premiere Pro 2 and Aspect HD, which run fine and are soon to expire.

I’m on a really tight budget, and I noticed on the Cineform site that they have a version of Aspect HD for Premiere Pro that is much cheaper than the version available for Premiere Pro 2 and 1.5. Aspect HDv4.13

If I was to purchase this version, the one that works with Premiere Pro, then do I need to purchase or download anything else to capture, edit and export HDV in Premiere Pro (not Premiere Pro 2).

Would the Aspect HD for Premiere Pro still be fully compatible with a Sony FX1. Can I still capture, interlace, de-interlace, export, and use transitions etc… in the same way that I can with the tril version in Premiere Pro 2?

Would I still be able to use this with After Effects version 6.5.

    Thankyou for your time.

    Steven.

I don’t see anything cheaper other than upgrades for existing customers, and Connect HD which works with Vegas, not Premiere Pro.

Mr Steven…you may have seen an upgrade instead of a full version.

If you are REALLY tight on the budget end of things, PPro 2.0 does handle HDV natively, but it takes a bigger machine to run at a satisfying speed.

PPro 1.5.1 is a free upgrade to 1.5 and that also will work with HDV. It’s a scaled back version of Aspect under the hood. It doesn’t run as fast as Aspect HD full version, but it would get you into HDV editing as a start…

Thanks guys, yes it was an upgrade, I’ve been up constantly rendering HDV footage and my mind is in zombie mode.
