I tried shooting higher frame rates on the Alexa, using the SxS cards with Prores422, but it would not go higher than 30fps – giving an ERROR message saying that the card is not fast enough to transfer DATA…any advise ?

    Hi Rami,

the case that you have normal.Alexa does not support over 30fps while recording SxS cards. According to some sources Arri will release a firmware to increase this value at this fall. But, i am not sure about what will be the max. fps after that firmware, and it is also related with the some hardware limitations.

That 60fps in ProRes 422 has not been enabled yet ( as of Build 2.0), the current max rate on the camera for internal recording is 30fps.

Alexa will not ever be able to record 60p as 444 on the SxS media, that will require much faster media.
