    You can’t. The date/time information is not available in FCP. You might try a request to feedback. You can only order by reel and timecode number.

    It’s a workaround, but we use the Date as the reel number. For example 208A05 = feb 8th, A camera, fifth tape.

    Then, when the clips are in the bin, they automatically sort into date, camera and load order.

    I use a similar method – but add a zero in front, so Feb = 02 (not 2). Another option I use is to assign tape numbers (01,02, etc) to each tape in chronological order and put that as the first part of the name, then follow that by the date. That way it just sorts correctly in the browser window, and it’s the quickest reference for date that I have.

    Thanks guys for the ideas with the date thingy, I have done something similar with reel names. I was hoping for something “automatic”,
