Areca RAID card – any experiences good or bad ?

I was wondering if anyone knows if the CalDigit card works with non-CalDigit enclosures.

The sales rep at OtherWorldComputing has told me that it does not work with anything besides the CalDigit HDElement.

Unfortunately, the HD Element is a very expensive enclosure, especially since it is not available without pre-installed drives.

I also have a norco DS-1240, and was assuming that my problems were related to my Highpoint 2322 card. Apparently the norco is at fault.

OWC is correct, the Caldigit RAID card will only work with Caldigit enclosures.

Have you taken a look at the CineRAID products. They offer a full line of storage products that are built on an enterprise level at affordable costs.
