  • Are .png files compatible with Final Cut Pro 7?

I have a powerpoint presentation that has images I want to use in a video in FCP7. I’ve been right-clicking them in powerpoint and saving the pictures, but am wondering what format is best for these images.

I originally saved them as jpeg, but default is png, which looks a bit better quality. Also, the jpeg files include some of the background, while the png isolates just the image that I want.

Should I use the .png version of these photos? (or what is best when saving pictures from powerpoint, to be used in fcp7)

.png files should work fine in FCP. I have used them before without issue. Make sure the pixel aspect is less than 4,000 pixels in width or height.

    They are better than jpeg
