  • Are higher resolution particle emitter shapes available?

Hi, most of the default particle shapes are 128×128. Are higher resolution versions available at max resolution of 512×512?

Sometimes when I’m working on an HD resolution stage and I scale up the emitter size to something like 3000%, the particle’s low resolution becomes really noticeable.

Since the particles emitter shapes are raster images, simply exporting to PNG, re-sizing in Photoshop, and then re-importing back into PI3 won’t make a difference.

Nope, sorry. Many of those 128×128 sprites are 10 years old, back when texture RAM was at a premium and it didn’t make sense for large textures. There are some larger sprites in more recent libraries (2012) but not replacements for everything.

BTW, you don’t want to use a 512×512 sprite for particles that will be 5 pixels in the final render. Visual results will be terrible.

    Alan.

Are you guys just kind of giving up on this product, or is upgrading in the works? HD, 3D, etc. I’d pay for it. Please advise.
