Archiving fun…
Really, just part of the territory, but for months i’d been thinking about moving old date from old (internal) drives to newer, larger ones…also making sure those old drives are even still functional! ☺ Some aren’t, but it’s a good process, and makes me get better at my current archiving/back-up practices. Heading to Best Buy shortly to buy a couple more 3 or 4TB drives to continue this process.
Are most of you using DLT, or some other form of archiving? I know hard drives won’t last forever, and at a certain point, no one will ever care about seeing a lot (MOST?) of this stuff anyway, but for now i sleep better knowing i have two copies of everything.
So, not really asking a question here, but just sharing what i do, unless of course one of you says, “are you CRAZY?!?! still using hard drives?!?!?!” At which point i will happily listen to know if there is a better, faster, cheaper, more efficient method.
Drives: Seagate, WD…Black, Blue, Green. Any favorites out there?
thanks for helping out a bonehead!
