Archiving capture scratch to DVD
I’m using FCE and would like to save the clips I have captured for videos I do for my children. I would like to save these clips to DVD to be possibly re-imported in the future for other videos of them I will do as they get older. Can someone please let me know the best way to do this so that when I need them they will be easily re-imported and organized? Thanks in advance.

That would take a LOT of DVD’s.
Assuming DV files, they take up 12+GB of space per hour.
A single layer DVD holds 4.7GB, and a dual-layer about 8GB.
Your best archive system may well be to buy additional external Hard Drives (500+GB) and copy your files over for storage.
Regardless of which you choose, you’d copy your capture scratch files to the new disks and save the disk(s) for future use.

You can pick up an external BluRay burner now from LaCie which is what some companies I work with use. These hold up to 50GB of material.
You simply drag the Capture Scratch to the BluRay disc. If you use DVD’s, depending on how much material you want to store, it can take a lot of discs.
