  • Archive FCPX project/events with original media but not transcoded media?

Posted by James Culbertson on October 18, 2011 at 4:21 am

Perhaps I am missing something obvious but is there a way to archive a project and related event’s original media, but not its transcoded media?

If not, any issues with manually deleting the transcoded media at the finder level once a duplication is done?

I know I can delete all the render files from the file menu.

    Thanks, James

You probably have to create a camera archive, even if these are files that didn’t necessarily come from a camera card.

So, a camera archive archives an events original media, then I guess you would have to duplicate a project only separately.

Seems easier to just duplicate the whole project plus related events, then delete the high rez transcoded media secondarily…
