August 31, 2007 at 5:37 pmit would be helpful to know your platform and version of ae, and maybe what happened just prior to the crash (were you rendering, did you hit the 3d switch on a layer, enable cast shadows…).
but i would make sure opengl was disabled, should be found in the preview preferences, just uncheck the use opengl. if it is a fairly old version, you might check the comp settings and then the advanced tab, and see if there are some options there for opengl…

September 2, 2007 at 6:28 amThanks Kevin,
I’m on Windows Vista Home Premium and I was just scrubing the timeline when it crashed.
I’m still not sure what adventages I can take using the OpenGL.
I hope I can prevent it in the future.
Thanks

September 4, 2007 at 5:35 pmi was hoping to disable opengl use all together… it’s a feature that can be problematic, and is largely unnecessary.
have you searched the ae archives for ‘vista’? there have been several issues noted with ae in vista, this may be one of them… you might also want to search or post on adobe’s ae forum. if there is a known issue, you should find it there.
