  Applying FFX to Expression Controls

  When I apply an Animation Preset to affect a layer’s Expression Controls, a new instance of the Expression Control is created instead of affecting the existing Expression Control. The only way to avoid this is to explicitly select the Expression Control name in the Timeline or the Effects Control panels.

  How would I go about creating an FFX that affects an existing Expression Control by simply just the layer name in the Timeline?
