I am dipping my toe into the world of the Bezier mask. Very powerful and cool. Here’s what I’m wondering: can I apply a Bezier mask to an entire track without having to go into each event’s pan/crop and copy the mask keyframe and paste into the next event’s pan/crop?

I am using the mask to fake a shallow DOF effect on an interview. I masked the “short side” of the interviewee and applied the Gaussian blur effect to the entire track underneath. There must be something I’m missing when I click on the mask list in the track box in the left of the timeline.

Masking is a generic term appplied to what we might do by applying an adjustment layer. However Bezier Masking and the compositing Track Masking options aren\’t the same. BM allows us to cutaway, crop asymmetrical shapes from an Event. TM allows us to alter the actual appearance or pixels AND in reference to the layers below. The only thing these two functions, controls share is the word Masking.

Ok, if iwas doing this I would experoment with using the ability that Vegas has to import a whole Vegas project into another Vegas project – it then gets treated as a pure
piece of media which you can THEN apply your BM straight off.

You could also try Copy>Paste Event Attributes, but you may find it too restrictive.

    Grazie
