applying an effect
I am fairly new to AE and I am wondering how to apply an effect to a layer but only have it applied for a few frames. I tried using an adjustment layer but it is getting applied to all the layers under it. I’m sure it’s an easy thing to do but I’m not having any luck at all.

You can split the layer where you want the effect to no longer be applied, and only apply the effect to the first part of the split.

thank you. is there any other ways to do it instead of having to have two layers?
