Applying a stroke effect to a 3d object?
I am working on a project that requires me to use this style:

I whipped that up in AE quickly but it was achieved by nesting the 3d layer (just an extruded shape) in a precomp and applying stroke to that – this is not going to be viable as the project features rotating cameras needs to be easily adapted – the precomp would not allow for this without having to keep going back into it and redoing every alteration.
Does anybody know of a way for me to achieve this stroke effect without using a precomp?
Also, just on the off chance anybody know how to get ray tracing working on 980 TI? I’ve heard it’s impossible but that would speed things along considerably.
Thanks in advance
