  • Apply Tracking to Paint Strokes in AE 6.5

Posted by Eric Goldstein on January 4, 2006 at 6:08 pm

    Hi,

I’m trying to apply tracking information to paint strokes in AE 6.5. In the tracker control under “Edit Target” The Effect Point Control pop up doesn’t recognize the paint strokes even though they have position control points.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Thanks in advance for your help,

I hope I got your question right. You are following the paint strokes with another layer right ?

So, that other layer should be your target.

I usually pre-comp the paint strokes layer, apply motion tracking to it. Place the tracker on the very tip of the stroke.

Select the layer tracking the stroke in ‘Edit Target’.

    That should work…

    Hi Vince,

I’m actually trying to to have a paint stroke follow a point on a particular layer.
