  • Apply Shader Effector to Sweep NURBS on Grid of Splines

    Hi

I am working on a quick way to create an effect of rain rolling down a surface.

So far I have created a grid of 100 subdivided vertical splines with Spline Dynamics.

The splines’s dynamics are set to make them tightly wrap around any object in their way via rest hold.

What I want to do is apply a noise shader effector to the Sweep NURBS much like we would to a cloner to switch objects ON / OFF. The shader would have a -Y direction at a slowish speed, therefore generating an array of falling Sweeps with their length’s determined by the shader.

I have achieved this by simply using the cloner and metaballs but has proven to be very slow. Doing so this new way would allow for more control and faster results.

I have attached the .C4D for anyone to have a look. I’d love to get this nailed!

    Thanks!
