Apply effects on adjustment layer with a colour map?
In other words, I’m thinking of applying effect(s) on a adjustment layer, but it would be masked/influenced by a colour map or a alpha map?
Any word on how this could be done?
If anyone can direct me in the right direction or help in any way, it would be most appreciated. Thanks for reading.

Use another layer as a track matte for the adjustment layer.
