anyone ever tried to write applescript for some rudamentary functions in FCP?
For example, I work on multiple projects simultaneously on seperate hotswap drives and get tired of each time I switch a project I need to reconfigure the scratch disks and autosave folders. Has anyone found a wat to either create a macro or script that defaults all scratch destination to whereever you want (or to the project folder? Thought it be a clever way to save a bit of time.

Final Cut Pro is not a scriptable application. You might be able to script something by utilizing universal access to control menu selections (universal access is in system preferences) but it would likely be clunky.
What you could do is have different user logins, and use fast user switching, since each user has their own preference file. I haven’t tried this, but it should work. Better make sure they all have access to the project files and drives, or you’ll get lots of permissions errors.

Hey thats a great idea… and much needed! I’d be willing to pay for something like that! Also, one that re-configures my system to do different type projects i.e. set-ups to also change my Kona Control settings along with FCP settings for film/DV/Standard def/HiDef etc…
